Mrs. Cherese Chatman
With over 20 years of experience in education, Mrs. Chatman brings a wealth of knowledge, passion, and heart to our school community. She began her journey at Longview Alternative School in Raleigh, stepping into the classroom as a special education teacher. Her love for reading later led her to middle school English/Language Arts. Her dedication to helping students succeed didn’t stop there—she earned a master’s degree in elementary math education to support students dealing with math anxiety. She's since taught students from 2nd through 8th grade in multiple subjects.
Most recently, Mrs. Chatman completed her masters in school administration at North Carolina Central University as a Principal Fellow. She truly believes that every student has the potential to succeed. She is deeply dedicated to helping students overcome challenges and discover their full potential. When she’s not in the classroom or leading with heart, Mrs. Chatman enjoys spending time with her family, reading great books, and getting creative with knitting and crafting.
Mrs. Chatman is excited to begin this new chapter at Eastern Elementary and looks forward to working with our families, staff, and community to help our students thrive.
